Watheroo
Tiny service township
A tiny settlement located 211 km north of Perth
between Moora and Coorow on the route known as the Midlands Scenic Way.
It services the surrounding wheatbelt and the passing tourist traffic
with a general store, a tavern (which has three in-house rooms, 6
self-contained units and 8 bay caravan lots available) and two service
stations.
Things to see:
Watheroo National Park
The only significant attraction in the area is the
Watheroo National Park, 44 000 hectares lying to the east of the town,
which is covered in heathland and woodland which consists of eucalypts,
banksias and sandplain cypress. Botanists regard the park as an
important example of midland sandheath. The park also has the large
Jingenia Caves as an added attraction.
